Burial Insurance No Exam
It’s true — a burial insurance policy can be issued with no medical exam!
Traditional life insurance policies require medical exams to determine the risk and, therefore, your premiums. However, burial — or final expense insurance — policies don’t because of the applicants advanced age.
So, they are issued based on the answers to a few questions.

How burial insurance is issued with no exam
How this works is answered by examining the two types of final expense insurance:
- Guaranteed issue life insurance — These policies require just a few questions to make sure you do not currently have a terminal illness. Other than that, most people qualify for guaranteed issue policies. These policies are, understandably, more expensive because of this.
- Simplified issue life insurance — For people who may not pass a medical exam but are still only considered a moderate risk, simplified issue policies are the best option for affordable coverage. There’s a more detailed medical questionnaire but no exam.
Answer your health questions honestly
Just because there is no exam and you are only asked to fill out a questionnaire, do not lie. If there are discrepancies between the answers you gave on your application and any medical records, your claim will be denied and your death benefit may not be paid to your family.
How much is life insurance with no exam?
Final expense life insurance technically comes with no exam anyway, so it’s not going to cost you any more. And compared to term life insurance for a person of the same age, it’s going to cost about the same.
The difference is going to be the death benefit and the fact it is permanent with no expiration as long as you pay the premium.
Because these policies are accepting more risk and are only meant to cover your funeral, burial, cremation, and other final expenses, they come with smaller coverage amounts.
Does burial insurance coverage expire if you don’t have an exam?
No, the other benefit is that the coverage amount never decreases nor does it end. As long as you keep paying the premiums, burial insurance is permanent life insurance. Even if you do become terminally ill.
